• 5 teams were able to improve both points scored and points conceded from their 2022 average.

Adelaide, Collingwood, Essendon, GWS and North Melbourne.

All those teams improved their ladder position.

• 3 teams were able to improve their points scored but couldn't improve points conceded.

Fremantle, Melbourne and Port Adelaide.

Only Brisbane and Port Adelaide improved their ladder position.

• 6 teams couldn't improve their points scored or conceded.

Geelong, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Richmond, Sydney and West Coast Eagles.

They all dropped ladder positions.

As you can see, Essendon was able to improve slightly in both scoring and in defending scores for just over goal a game.

The 5th best overall.

If we take out the aberration of the last 2 games against GWS and Collingwood, the team was on target at that point for an overall gain of

5.38 FOR and 9.77 AGAINST.
